I purchased a few elf items recently. I don't have much experience with them, aside from their lipsticks in Natural Nymph and Runway Pink, which I've had for about two years (I used to love them, but they don't get used much now). The matte lip crayons piqued my interest, though, and when I saw the cream blushes, that was it! I had to have Heartbreaker. It looks CRAZY bright in the pan, but as with the YSL cream blushes (which this reminds me of!), it blends beautifully and doesn't look at all clown-ish.
I'm a lip balm junkie - especially when they're tinted! Peaceful Pink is a beautiful pale pink shade. The only thing I dislike about it is that it smells/tastes of straight-up sunscreen! It has an SPF of 15, but that's not that crazy. I just feel like I'm dabbing sunscreen on my lips, and while I like the smell actually, it's just a little odd for a lip balm. It also tingles a little.
Oh, one more thing which goes for both products, is that the packaging, while sleek-looking, is way too big and bulky. For someone who already has too much makeup fighting for space, oversized packaging is not attractive!
Here's a closer look at the Maybelline liner (not from the same day). I love it!
Okay, that's all for tonight! I've got loads more to post about - tomorrow perhaps? ;)
Love you guys, and thanks for reading!
xoxo,
<3 Jess
Glad you're feeling better, you look so pretty and fresh! The Maybelline liner looks totally wearable with just enough color, I will need to check it out :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fresh and pretty face =) Did not know that Nars blushes could be used on eyes, thanks sweets x
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies! Emma - I was actually looking up Mary-Kate Olsen's makeup from the 2011 Met Ball, and apparently her makeup artist used Exhibit A on her eyes, as well as Dragon Girl lip pencil! I think my eyes lit up at the possibilities! haha
ReplyDeleteFor the price, it's nice to know you can use Nars blush on the eyes. You look great, Jess! I'm so excited to use my Forest gel liner. It's starting to feel like Fall in Michigan (58 this morning, ugh!) so I might as well embrace the makeup already. Love that tinted balm color on you, and I've got to try out those cream blushes :)
ReplyDeletelove the blush combo. sex appeal looks very light but i bet the elf really makes it stand out since it looks wonderful on you.
ReplyDeleteI like Sex Appeal on top of bright blushes to tone them down a bit - I like that it adds a bit of peach to pink blushes, too. And it also works for setting cream blushes!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling better dear!!! Those ELF blushes are actually really nice, Heartbreaker and Seductress are probably my two favorite shades! I haven't tried the lip balm, but have been curious about it for sure. OMG LOVE that green liner on you....gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteYay glad u are back dear!!=D love ur FOTD's! one of the ones i look most forward to!! i wear NARS Orgasm on my eyes sometimes, bc i never use it as a blush, needs to be used
ReplyDeleteThe elf and liner look so good on u!!!
