Hello lovely people! Today's post is not what I had planned, but when I got home from running around today, of cooourse it started raining, and was too dark to take pics for my August Favorites post. No worries, it will be up soon! I did manage to get a few makeup pics before I went out this morning, though. I actually went to bed last night thinking, "I want to wear purple eyeshadow tomorrow." Do you guys ever do that? Anyways, I pulled out my purple go-to -- the NARS Jolie Poupee eyeshadow duo. I bought it about two years ago, and I just think it makes for the prettiest purple eye. I tend to choose neutral eyeshadow shades, but when I want something a little different, purple or green really make my baby browns "pop" (sorry for the cliche!).
The only problem I have with colored eyeshadow is that I struggle to find a lipstick that isn't either too much or not enough. I thought Shu Uemura's Darling Beige matte lipstick worked perfectly, though! Just enough color without competing with the eyes - I love how it works with the peach YSL cream blush, too. :) Speaking of the YSL cream blushes, they are soooo amazing. I was lusting after the new Blush Radiance powder blushes, but I think I'd prefer another cream blush! I have #1 (peach) and #2 (rose) already - maybe the orange or fuchsia?? *sigh*
Oh, and I used the last drops of my Moroccanoil (which I thought I'd already binned!) today after several weeks without. Um, I could not stop touching my hair all day long, aaaand I couldn't resist buying a new mini bottle while I was out shopping today. >_< I got the Light version this time, since it's designed for fine & light-colored hair.

I wore a new dress today that I picked up from Target earlier this week. I love it! I will say, though, that I found the slip to be a little short, so I wore black leggings with it. I like the print, too - not too overpowering. I actually wore a leopard print handbag today, and believe it or not, I thought the two prints worked well together!
See you all again soon! Can't wait to share my monthly favorites with you - and my recent shopping finds! :)
Oh, and because I left them out of my last post, here are a few pics of my little chunks - they're getting so big!!
Ring around the rosy?
Thanks for reading!

omg the cats go in the dish washer??? haha hilarious! that's an INCREDIBLE nude lipstick on u!!!
ReplyDeletelol, yes!! Every time I open the dishwasher to load or unload it, they climb in! Mouse especially likes rubbing his head on all the rungs as he makes his way though. Cats are definitely the most curious animals ever! haha
ReplyDeleteThanks about the lippie, too! I blind-ordered it, and was nervous I wouldn't like the shade -- not at all the case! Glittergeek just recently posted about all the shades in the range (http://www.glittergeek.ca/2011/09/matte-lips-for-fall-shu-uemura-rouge-unlimited-supreme-matte-lipstick/)- she's definitely making me want more!
Oh that dress is soo cute!! And OMG your kitties are soooo adorable! That second picture of them cuddling is too precious!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the purple eye look, it looks great with your complexion and I think the matte lip you paired it with is perfect. I know what you mean about it being hard to find a good lip for coloured eye looks, I usually end up going for a nude lip but then feel like it's not enough for a bold eye. That peachy nude is perfect.

love darling beige on you. it looks wonderful. hmm i really need to try out Moroccan oil. i keep hearing amazing things! and i really want to try out the ysl cream blushes. i keep hearing raves about them! do they have a good lasting power and pigmentation?
ReplyDeletePretty look! I love purple shadow. Jolie Poupee was one of my first Nars shadow purchases :) Your kitties are adorable!
ReplyDeleteSeeing your kitties makes me feel happy! You and the kitties have such pretty eyes :) That Nars shadow is indeed making your eye color look even prettier.
ReplyDeleteThe dishwasher pic cracks me up. Love this makeup look on you!
ReplyDeleteMom, you should've seen them today when I was replacing the liner and litter in the litter box. Mouse was jumping in and out of it the whole time!
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely little stinkers! Casper doesn't get into mischief much these days, but he certainly knows how to make his presence known!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your comments!
ReplyDeleteKelly - The YSL cream blushes are probably the best I've tried from any brand. They're not at all sticky, but are well pigmented. However, they're really buildable, too, so they can either look really natural or really bold - whichever you prefer! I will say that, as with most YSL products, they are fragranced. My skin is really sensitive, though, and I haven't had a problem with them irritating my skin.
Mom - I wonder if Casper would still be getting into mischief if Tiger was still around? Either way, he's had his share of mischief in his life so far, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteYour cats are so adorable! (: And I agree that the lipstick is gorgeous.. and so it your dress, and the nail polish, and the blush... and pretty much everything! lol
