chanel spring 2012: rouge coco shines in 68 candeur & 69 flirt

I was so excited to see Chanel's Spring 2012 Harmonie de Printemps collection on shelves - don't get me wrong, I am NOT ready for Christmas to be over, but I AM ready to see the spring makeup collections roll out! If you know me at all, you know lipstick is my favorite beauty product, and nudes and peachy pinks are my absolute greatest weakness. Well, the spring collections seem to be full of them, and full of other beautiful details as well -- Paul & Joe's kitty-themed collection? YES PLEASE! Dior's Garden Party collection with rose imprinted palettes? I'M SO THERE. And YSL is rolling out an utterly dangerous number of new lipstick shades, and even a new line of liquid lipsticks.  #byebyebankaccount

Anyways, I made a pretty restrained purchase (for me!). I was most excited about the limited edition blush, but I was highly disappointed when I swatched it, so I passed (scroll down for swatches). It just looked scarily frosty on my skin. The eyeshadows, Rouge Coco lipsticks, and glossimers were all easy passes as well. It was quite a relief actually, as there's so many things I want from Dior, YSL, and Paul & Joe when those collections release.

It may be too early to be saying this already, but I think these may be my favorite Rouge Coco Shines to date. They're both so wearable and easy to just slap on with any look.  I don't really notice any shimmer, though they are definitely glossy. Flirt reminds me of  YSL's Volupte Sheer Candy #10 Tangy Mandarina, and Candeur reminds me a cross between YSL's Rouge Pur Shine in #32 Frozen Mango and #93 Pink Lychee. Again, if you know me, you know if I compare a lip product to YSL it's the highest compliment I can give as they can pretty much do no wrong in that department.

    You are so right about the spring collections! While part of me associates spring collections with January and the end of the holiday season, I am also BEYOND excited for YSL, Guerlain, Paul & Joe, Dior and CHANEL!

    Jessica - I know, I'm so torn. Stay Christmas forever vs. Hurry up, January!! On the other hand, I'm grateful they didn't come out this month or last, because I wouldn't have been able to buy gifts for my family! LOL

    amazing choices! i love the flirt one ;) I also have one from rouge coco shine in evasion but it is too intense i think for my coloring! I am going to chcek those two for sure!

    Tiffany - I know exactly what you mean, and that was my thought when I saw them! Preceded by a "Oh, crap," that is. ;) And I agree - you should definitely do some swatching next time you get a chance - there are several really nice shades in the range! And the formula is my favorite they've come out with so far.

    NOOOOOOO! I told myself I didn't want/like/need either of those two RC Shines! GAH. You always do this to me..every..single..time..lol. You will forever and always be my numero uno enabler de lip. I speak sexy Spanish now, I guess. Oh and yeah, Guerlain and YSL Springs are going to ruin me financially. #ohwell

    Ooh, I'd love that liner! I thought most of this collecting was a pass, but not because I don't like it - I just thought it was kind of dupable. Those RC shines look nice, though :) They are very you! Paul & Joe has made blush sticks in the shape of cats:: therefore, Paul & Joe will get all my money ;)

    Love these colors! If I were to ever buy Chanel lippies (and I should lol) it would be these for sure...ahhh just another item for my wish list! They definitely look like Jess colors!
