christmas shopping (for myself...?) + mascara comparisons + FOTD/NOTD

Hello again (from me and Sparky)!

Can I just start this blog by saying that I stopped at Starbucks today (this is not common - I don't drink coffee) and now I feel the need to rave about the pumpkin scone I add. TRIPLE YUM! And then there's my favorite, Caramel Apple Spice (if you're unfamiliar, it's hot apple cider with caramel and whipped cream). I looooooove that stuff! Speaking of food-stuff, I've been in the mood to bake lately, so I snatched up a box of Butter Pecan cake mix and some caramel frosting so I can bake cupcakes tomorrow.

Are you girls hungry yet? :D

Yesterday I did some Christmas shopping, and as it usually goes, I bought more for myself than anyone else (although I did get a good number of gifts too!). I went to Sephora and was THRILLED because a customer slipped me a 20% off coupon on her way out. Gotta love that holiday spirit! :) Of course, I bought some things I shouldn't have, but 20% off cosmetics just doesn't happen that often.

I won't tell you everything I got (some were gifts!), but here are a few of my faves:

**please note these are not my photos!**

Tarte Treasure Chest -- AMAZING!

I'm sure you'll see more of these products in blogs to come!

On to the mascara comparisons! First up is Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara (ha! stupid name!) vs. YSL Everlong Mascara (Foo Fighters song?). YSL is on the left, Bobbi Brown is on the right. What do you think? (just washed my face, ack!)

Personally, I think both of good mascaras, but Bobbi Brown wins for me. YSL Everlong is a good natural-looking mascara that separates lashes well. But the length factor (that was two coats, I believe) disappointed. Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara just seemed to give my lashes more curl and volume, and BONUS, it is "all day buildable" which means you can add more without clumping all day if you want.

So, verdict: Bobbi Brown Extreme Party Mascara by a (lash) hair. ;)

This was yesterday's F/NOTD (with the Nars Jungle Red lipstick! LOVE!).

Alright ladies, time to go watch "How I Met Your Mother" and fold laundry (fun!). I have a lot of posts planned for this week, though, so stay tuned! Thanks for reading! :)

  1. Hmm. Could have sworn I commented on this already. Did my computer eat it? Love, love, love the red nails and lipstick. Goes perfectly with the leopard look. Now all you need is a pillbox hat and pearls!

I see the eyebrows are perfectly plucked. I'm impressed, but not surprised.
