Lime Crime Coquette lipstick: review, swatches, + comparisons

I ordered Lime Crime's new Coquette lipstick on the day of its release (March 15), and while it didn't get to me until the 30th (which in my opinion is too long a wait for something being sent within the same country...), I think it was worth the wait! It's a gorgeous nude along the lines of some of my all-time favorite shades.

Revlon Soft Nude, MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2, Lime Crime Coquette, Boots Natural Collection Apple Blossom

on my lips...

And pardon the post-work makeup (grease lightning!), but I thought you might like more of an idea of how it looks on! :)

Coquette is not my first Lime Crime lipstick - I also own Airborne Unicorn, D'Lilac, Great Pink Planet, and No She Didn't (which is blue! If you haven't seen it, you should Google it) - but it's absolutely the most wearable.  The formulation is similar to MAC's Satin finish, I think - creamy and matte (and similarly vanilla-scented also). It's a bit dry but not too bad.  If you're a fan of nudes, I definitely think this would be up your alley!

The only downside, like I said, was the wait! Hopefully they get it together soon - 15 days just isn't fast enough for "I need it now!" beauty addicts. ;)

Thanks for reading - love you guys! And thanks for all the kind words about my new hair color - I really like it, too. :D

xoxo,
<3 Jess

  3. Hi, Jess!

Erica from Lime Crime Makeup here. :) We are SO thrilled you love Coquette! Yours is I believe the first review of any Pop Romance colors to pop up online, so we are very happy! Thank you for taking the time out to tell us your thoughts. Coquette looks darling on you.

On a more personal note, I want to apologize for how long it took to get to you! As you may have heard, we have been flooded (no exaggeration!) with orders for our new release, and we've been working crazy hard to get the orders out the door as fast as they came in. So please accept my deepest apologies and thank you so much for being so patient! :)

Thank you again. Enjoy your new spring lippie!

Lime Crime has always been in my mind as this brand with the crazy coloured lipsticks, but now, I think I should re-evaluate!

  6. I lean more toward darker colors, but if I saw these in a store I'd buy one just for the cool packaging!

  11. how much would you compare Revlon Soft Nude and Lime crime coquette? I've been looking at coquette wanting it for some time now but already own soft nude, and i'd hate to buy it if they're pretty similar. Please let me know!

  12. Sorry Make up gets me high - I just realized I never answered your question! I own Myth, but I don't wear it. I find it too dry and unflattering on me. :\

Alishia - I think Coquette is very similar to Soft Nude, but more opaque. I actually prefer Soft Nude of the two. It's also very similar to MAC Viva Glam Gaga II. I'd say if you already own Soft Nude OR Gaga II, you could definitely skip this.
